Let me take a week off from Manliness 101 series in order to entertain you on a related problematic: trivial terrorism. On any given day, I'm all about it. Shepard Fairey and Banksy's respective invasion of the streets were intellectually uplifting. On a fictional aspect, Tyler Durden's haikus on corporate mailing lists were brilliant. The point of trivial terrorism is to put people out of their comfort zone and make them think for themselves.
Like many big companies, Genius X has been affected by the Here You Have... virus yesterday. It's a very effective virus that incapacitates your Task Manager (in clear language, it means the virus makes your computer sick...and bombs the ambulance coming in). Computer viruses could be amazing, but they are programmed by cave-dwellers who basically just want to challenge themselves. As it's manly to challenge yourself, it's not to shit on your neighbor's lawn. There's no message conveyed by Here You Have..., it's as stimulating as a base-ball bat to the kneecaps.
Couldn't it be something creative like an infinite screen-saver of outside scenery, reminding you that you're wasting your life inside? Or a "Bill O'Reilly is watching you" wallpaper? Something is telling me that his big fat face is a lot less pleasant on your desktop than on television. If there are any hackers reading, I challenge you, make the next virus worth its while. I'm sure you have an artist within and something to say about society. Stop breaking shit up like hooligans and start messing with people's mind a bit. You have the key to people's machines, why wouldn't you want to say something? I'm sure you guys are interesting people.
