I read crime fiction. A lot. Maybe too much. Of the 112 books I've read this year, it's fair to say at least 75% were crime fiction. Mostly hardboiled, noir and very, very dark thrillers. Maybe I overdid it, this year so expect next reading year to have a broader scope of genres. I can't help it, I get off on people being shitty to one another. I don't especially like dark and twisted people (the internet have made them boring), but I love to read about the darkest possible motivations of seemingly normal people. Best crime novel is rewarding the crime fiction book which dragged me to the darkest corners of the human condition. The nominees are...
