Lowell Sweeney is featured at Beat to a Pulp

You have probably read it somewhere on social media by now : The latest adventures of Lowell Sweeney are featured , this week on Beat to a Pulp. While I have collaborated with the publishing company twice in the past, it's the first time I'm featured on the eZine and I'm quite excited about that. You can read the story here.

In OFF THE DEEP END, Lowell has stopped trying to get killed and decided to find a reason to live instead. So he trades law for justice, but his moral compass is a little blurred since being heavily depressed and all. Enter Michelle Phillips, thirty-one years old, abused housewife, murderer and walking the same path towards self-destruction than Lowell does. What is the most horrible scheme they can come up with together? You'll have to read OFF THE DEEP END to know!

Michelle was vaguely inspired by a client of mine, back when I was working on the phone. We built a proto-friendship over the years, so one day I was fed up with my existence and she called. I was being jokingly flirtish with her, very over-the-top, and she started opening up to me. Telling me about the fights she had with her fiancé. That went on for two or three calls before the call center closed down. It was an uncomfortable, yet fascinating experience.

Read OFF THE DEEP END and see how she translated to fiction. A thousand thanks to editor David Cranmer who saw the potential in this story and worked with me to make it as good as it could get. He is that editor every writer dreams to work with. Feedback, comments and questions are welcomed.
