What are you looking for, homie?

The Dead End Follies Book Club

That's right. If you look carefully, there's a new addition to the Dead End Follies' sidebar. It's not completely new, but think of it more as an old function being repurposed. See, a little while ago, the girls of The Broke And The Bookish held a Top Ten Tuesday where you had to list the top ten books you've read on a blogger's recommendation. I was thoroughly happy to see my name on quite a few lists. People trust my tastes and are rarely disappointed.

So here's the deal with the book club. I will list six books every month that I think everybody will get a kick out of. They are some of my favorites, some books I have recently read or books written by the friends of Dead End Follies. To qualify for the book club, the books need to be read, appreciated and picked by me. This is my word I'm offering. Not promises or any form of pre-sale.

So if you don't know what to read or if you're looking to try the waters with something new, you can come here, look at your right and pick a title. Every month there's going to be six new titles for you to try. They will be ranging from literary to any form of crime fiction, with the odd non-fiction book. I figured that six is a good number. Gives you some time to browse, some choice and the possibility of waiting for next month if nothing hits home for you.

This Dead End Follies' Book Club selection for October 2011 are:
