Nominations for the 2021 Larry Prater Awards
We’re in December already. That means I have to pick the best reading and best viewing experience 2021 had to offer. It’s been a couple years since I was reviewed so much transcendent material. This year’s been GOOD. Now, I usually release year-end lists each December, but I changed the way I work in 2021. Two reasons for that: a) I consume less media and b) my friend Larry passed away in October 2020 and I wanted something to remember him by.
So, I created the Larry Prater Awards. One for Best Read and one for Best Viewing. Larry was a patron of the arts and I’ve taken upon myself of turning him into a patron saint. I will be highlighting only four books and four movies instead of twenty, but these are the absolute cream of the crop. I will announce the individual winners next week, but it will be a matter of preference. All of these are great.
